Silver Jewellery Care
- Care should be taken when putting bracelets on and taking them off. Each bracelet should be put on and removed individually, rolling over the hand and wrist rather than stretching the elastic.I always recommend putting jewellery on after clothing, paying particular attention to knitwear to avoid any catching and pulling of fabric.
- All sterling silver is prone to tarnishing so when you’re not wearing your jewellery, I recommend keeping it in something airtight (a little box or zipper gripper bag will do the trick).
- You should avoid wearing your jewellery when undertaking any manual tasks.
- You should avoid contact with perfumed products and chemicals (including perfume, body creams, suntan lotions etc) as these can accelerate tarnishing of the silver.
- You should avoid wearing your jewellery in water and always remove before showering, bathing, swimming etc. The chemicals in swimming pools and hot tubs can discolour sterling silver and accelerate tarnishing.
- In the summer months, sometimes sweat can accelerate tarnishing of silver, so I recommend wiping your jewellery with a soft damp cloth after wearing it, before putting it away.
- Should you wish to clean your silver jewellery, I recommend using a silver polishing cloth which will remove any tarnish.
- Over time, the elastic on bracelets and rings may stretch slightly and it is recommended that you periodically check your jewellery and get pieces restrung, if necessary. For restringing enquiries, please email: tracey@belleamedesigns.co.uk
What is Polymer Clay?
Polymer clay is a versatile material made from plastic-based compounds. It remains pliable until baked, which hardens it into a durable, lightweight material. Our jewellery is crafted from high-quality polymer clay, allowing for vibrant colors and intricate designs. We have spent alot of time researching to ensure we are using the best materials possible for your jewellery.
Will my earrings/jewellery be heavy?
No, our polymer clay jewellery is designed to be super lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear. Polymer clay is known for its low density, so you can enjoy stylish and eye-catching pieces without the burden of heavy accessories.
Is polymer clay flexible and durable?
Yes, polymer clay is both flexible and durable. While it maintains a degree of flexibility, it is also robust enough to withstand daily wear and tear. This means your jewellery can handle regular use without easily breaking or cracking.
